What is Projector and How to work ?

How does it work?

All of you must have probably seen the projector being used in your class, or in any one government function, nowadays people also use the projector in weddings, to refresh the old memories. But do you know what this video projector is?

How does this projector work? What are its different types? If you want to know the simple answer to all these questions, then read this article till the end. Because today we are going to share all the information about Projector with you.

Gone are the days when classrooms were equipped with blackboards, in which they were filled with quotations, maths equations and science diagrams. Teachers needed to write again and again using chalks to explain a concept.

Sometimes all the things in these blackboards may not be explained properly. In such a situation, by using digital projectors, teachers can easily concentrate and explain all the concepts to the students better. With this, now teachers can seamlessly teach the students without using any chalks which earlier used to waste a lot of time.

By getting more time, students can ask all their doubts. That's why today I thought that why should you people be given information about what is a projector, so that you will be able to understand it easily. So without delay let's start.

What is Projector

To explain Projector in simple language, then it is a device that uses a series of chips, lenses, color wheels and various other gadgets and gizmos that receive a beam of light and convert it into yours. That too in favorite movies and TV shows with great high definition detail.

A projector is an optical device that projects an image or moving images over a surface, which is primarily a projection screen. The most common type of projector in today's time is the video projector.

Video projectors can be called digital replacements as the first type of projectors such as slide projectors and overhead projectors.

Who invented the projector and when?

Projectors were invented by Charles Francis Jenkins in 1894 .

There is nothing in common between today's projectors and the old projectors. Where in the earlier original models, light was blasted by celluloid film and in this the images and sounds were stringed together using some techniques that are not even used anymore.

There is a lot of complexity in both the design and implementation of modern projectors, many different core technologies are used in it, which provides a very wide range to a prospective buyer.
type of projector

There are many types of projectors but three of them are the most important.

1. DLP
2. LCD
3. CRT

What is DLP Projection

DLP technology is based on an optical semiconductor called a DMD chip (Digital Micro Mirror Device), it was done by Texas Instruments in 1987 . A DMD chip is made up of several million tiny mirrors, which rotate in a 10 degree angle (in better models these are also 12 degrees).

In a DMD chips, the shadows are often extrapolated and controlled using one of the shade controls. These are controls in which it rotates completely round, which can be from about 150x each second to 250x or can be more.

Many affordable products can be made using several message shade controls. It can be either Red/Green/Blue any colour, but it is often a clear message.

What are the Advantages of DLP Projector

1) It has Filter-free design.
2) These are sealed projection systems.
3) There are no problems of a failed air filter in this.
4) There are higher contrasts.
5) Less pixilation is
6) Lighter and smaller.

What are the Disadvantages of DLP Projector

Rainbow effect can be seen in this, color wheels sometimes produce rainbow effect. Rainbow effect (also called color separation artifacts), these are momentary flashes of banded colors that look exactly like rainbows. These occur randomly, and they only last for a few moments.

These problems are mostly visible in slower color wheel projectors. This rainbow artifacts problem is never visible in 3-DLP chip projectors as it uses 3 single DLP chips technology.
what is lcd projector

An LCD projector is a type of video projector that is used to display displaying video, images, and computer data on a screen or on another flat surface.

This is a modern version of slide projector or overhead projector.

To display images , LCD ( liquid crystal display ) projectors typically send light from a metal-halide lamp via a prism or a series of dichroic filters that separate that light into three polysilicon panels – In which one for red, second for green and third for blue components of video signal.

Because polarized light is passed through these panels (which are a combination of a polarizer, LCD panel and analyzer), individual pixels can be opened to allow light or close to block light.

This combination of open and closed pixels can produce a wide range of colors and shades in the projected image.

What are the Advantages of LCD Projectors

1. Higher contrast ratio occurs in specific projector models.
2. Sharper image is there in specific projector models.

What are the Disadvantages of LCD Projectors

1. Having a low contrast ratio, due to the design of the equipment, in which they are equipped with high-quality optics.

2. Are high-weight.

3. Dust blobs are impurities in the panels. Therefore, the LCD structure projector must be cleaned after every 300 hours of use.

4. Color decay happens.

5. The Limited Lifetime Screen-door effect is visible in this, this is when the lines between the pixels become visible, due to which separate pixels become visible, and these effects become more distracting.

6. Dust issues are very high in this. Due to this dust accumulation, there can be a reduction in the contrast ratio by up to 50% over time.

7. Having dead pixels. Which you must have heard in LCD Monitors .

What is CRT Projector

The full form of CRT is " Cathode Ray Tube ". This is the largest and most used projector. Many of you must have seen this projector in the auditorium of the school, or in the bars. CRT utilizes three tubes, also known as "guns". These three colors combine and converge to form an image.

CRTs do not have a fixed number of pixels, which makes them versatile machines and capable of producing clear images in higher to lower resolution sources. Running CRTs requires periodic 'calibration' of a trained professional, which is an additional expense to the end user.

These projectors are generally used for fixed installations due to their size. CRTs are not as bright as other technologies, but the refined picture quality that a properly calibrated CRT provides is very difficult to beat.

At the same time, its parts are more expensive, especially to replace those guns, a lot of money has to be spent.

What is the Throw Distance of the Projector?

The throw distance of a projector is called the distance that is within the image of the projector and the screen (ie the distance as far as the image can be "thrown").

What is Projection Screen?

A projection screen is one where the installation consists of a surface and a support structure and is used to display a projected image that is eventually seen by the audience .

Projection screens are either installed permanently, such as in a movie theater, or are installed semi-permanent as in a conference room.

There are many different types of Projection Screen such as digital projectors, movie projectors screen, overhead projectors, slide projectors etc.

But the basic idea that all screens have is the same: Front projection screens work by diffusingly reflecting the light that is projected on them, while back projection screens work by diffusing light. in transmitting by them.
Which projector is best to buy?

Well, there are many different types of projectors to buy. But some of them are good too, with more functions, there are some which do not have much features. So below I have made a list of some of the best projectors which you can buy online if you want.
  1. JVC DLA-X5900
  2. Sony VPL-VW300ES
  3. Optoma HD39Darbee Special Edition
  4. BenQ W1070+
  5. Optoma UHD65

Which lens is used in the projector?

Convex Lens is used in Projector. It is curved outwards from both the sides. This magnifying lens is also actually a convex lens. When the light passes through it, then you can get an image in the screen which is very big as compared to the object which has this image. That's where this image is inverted.

Therefore this inverted video or image is released inside the projector and which is later projected into a screen. That's why we finally see the image straight.

What is the use of projector in education

Projector has many benefits, but they are used the most in education, which means they are used the most in the field of education. Let us know about how they are used.

As we already know that today is the time of technology, in such a situation, almost everyone knows the use of Laptops, Smarthphones and computers.

At the same time, how can the education sector be left behind. Yes friends, to make studies more interesting, projectors and smart boards are now being used in classrooms. Let us know more about their use.

Earlier, where it was not so easy for children to concentrate in studies and write notes together, now notes are presented in a better interactive way using projectors. Apart from this, after the end of the class, teachers can share the e-copy of those notes with the students.

Due to which they get the right notes in the right time, in which the chances of making a mistake are less. Apart from this, children can devote more attention to understanding things where they can do these things in a more focused way.
Learning can be made more interactive through presentations that keep students more engaged.

We all know that we remember the story of the movie better in lieu of the theory part of the books. There is only one reason for this, that is presentation. In the same way, if the concepts are explained through interactive videos, then it is remembered more in children.

At the same time, their interest also increases a lot. Due to this, they remember their studies for a long time.

Lessons can be taught through games

Nowadays there are so many puzzles and quizzes on the internet that they can be used in children's studies as well. Keeping Education Puzzles in front of the students also remembers their subjects and due to the presence of a projector, they are not even bore. In this, teachers can also discuss or quiz the questions of their subjects.

Can be taught from different range of mediums

Young children do not understand the whole subject. Therefore, if the same subject is divided into small pieces, then they remember it more.

In this, turn on the slides already prepared through the projector and after reading a small part of a subject, its related tasks or exercise can be done in an interactive way. With this, along with studies, the spirit of team work will also increase in them.

Proper use of Classroom Time

Often in the earlier education system there was more wastage of classrom time. Because teachers had to write notes, by erasing them, they had to write again on some new topics, in such a situation the doubts of the students could not be cleared. At the same time, since the arrival of projectors, time does not have to be wasted for these extravagant works, so that students can study better.
