High-frequency RFID systems range from 3 MHz to 30 MHz, while its typical HF frequency is 13.56 MHz. And it has a standard range of a few inches to several feet.
UHF RFID systems range from 300 MHz to 960 MHz, while its typical frequency is 433 MHz and its standard range is 10 feet to 25-plus feet.
Microwave RFID systems run in a frequency of 2.45 GHz and can be read from a distance of 30+ feet.
How does RFID work

When an RFID tag passes through the field of the scanning antenna, it detects the activation signal from that antenna. Which wakes up the RFID chip, and they start transmitting information from their microchip and which is picked up from the scanning antenna.
How many types of RFID tags are there?

What is the difference between RFID and Barcodes ?
Although RFID tags and barcodes , both of them carry information about the products. But there is a huge difference in the use of both these technologies. So let's know more about the differences between RFID and Barodes:Barcode readers need a direct line of sight for those printed barcodes ; Whereas RFID readers do not need a direct line of sight. Be it active RFID tags or passive RFID tags.
RFID tags can be easily read from long distances by an RFID reader , which is up to 300 feet. At the same time, the range to read a barcode is very short, which is typically less than 15 feet.
RFID readers can quickly interrogate and read RFID tags; Which are in 40 or more tags per second. Whereas barcodes are more time-consuming to read, as it requires a direct line of sight. On the other hand, if the items are not oriented properly, then it also takes more time (few seconds) to read a barcode.
Because Line of Sight is needed to read Barcodes properly. Having these requirements limits the ruggedness of the barcode and with it the reusability of the barcodes (in simple language, line of sight is required for barcodes, so the printed barcode has to stay on top of the product so that it is more exposed Yes to the barcode reader.
