How to open a zero balance account online in the State Bank of India?

You must have an Aadhar card to open an account online. Along with this, it is necessary to link your mobile number with Aadhaar, so that you will be able to verify KYC online. We have given step-by-step information on account opening below.

1. Install YONO SBI App

To open an online account in SBI, you have to first open the Play Store and here you have to search yono sbi, then the official application of yono sbi will come. You have to install it. You can also install this app by clicking here. After installing the application, you will open it, then to use this application you have to allow permission.

2. Select the New to SBI option

Now the interface of the YONO application will open in front of you. Here you have to click on the option of New to SBI here to open a new bank account.

If you click on the option of New to SBI, then the option of selecting the account type comes in front of you. In which you will be shown two types of bank accounts here –

1. Digital Savings Account 
2. Insta Savings Account

If you select Digital Savings Account, now you will need to go to the bank, and on the other hand, if you select the second option i.e. Insta Savings Account then you do not need to do bank-specific. You do not even need to maintain balance in this account. Apart from this, you also get the net banking user id login password immediately.

3. Select "Apply Now" Option

Now you get the option of Apply Now to open a sbi account online. You click on this option. After this two options appear in front of you. Apply New and Resume If you are applying for a new account then you have to select the option of Apply New.

4. Enter Your Mobile Number

After this, the option to fill in your mobile number will come here. Enter the mobile number you want to link with your account. Now you have to come down here and click on submit option. After this an OTP password will be sent to your mobile number. To verify the mobile number here, you have to click on the option of OK and type the one-time password that has come on your phone here. After verifying, you have to click on the submit option.

In the next step, here comes the option to create a password for the application. Here you have to set a good password of 8 digits or more. For example, after setting the demo@123 password, you have to enter the same password again by coming as below. After this, ongoing to the next option, the security question appears. In this, you have to select the option and type the security answer and click on the next option.

After this, a popup message will be shown to you, that you have to complete this work within 30 days, otherwise your application will be canceled. Now the option of FATCA will come. In which you are asked whether you are a taxpayer outside India or not. If you do not pay tax outside India, then tick the option given here and click on the Next button.

If you click on the next option, then you will get the option to read personal details in front of you. After reading it carefully, click on the next option. Now you have been given three options to use an Aadhar card. You can scan the QR code of the Aadhar card. You can type your Aadhar number yourself in the second option. In the third option, the virtual ID which you get on the Aadhar card, which is a temporary ID, can also open the account.

7. Enter your personal details

After that, you have come to the option of filling in personal information. Here typing the name of your city wherever you were born. After this, you have to come to the country option and here you have to type India. You have to come in the option of citizenship, here also you have to type India. In nationality also type India and go to the next option. After this, you will see that the address on your Aadhar card has come in front of you.

After this, your income is asked. Here you have to select whatever annual income you have. Now you have to select what business you do. Then you select Hindu or Muslim, Sikh, Christian or other.

10. Enter your nominee details

After this, the box for filling in the nominee details would come. Here, to fill in the details of the nominee, if you want, you can sync the information directly with the Aadhaar or you can also fill the Aadhaar number manually. After filling the relation you have with the nominee and its date of birth, you have to go to the next step. Along with this, fill in all the other information of the nominee carefully as it is important. You can change the nominee later if you want.

11. Select your home branch

In the next step, you have to type the branch name. When you start typing, you will get the option to select the bank branch. Select your branch in the branch list. After this, at the bottom, you were given the option to do a signature. Proceed to checkmark it. After this OTP will come on your mobile, fill it carefully and submit it.

12. Enter your ATM/Debit Card Details

Now the details of what you want to name in the ATM card you want to get will come. Here type whatever name you want to put on the debit card. Your ATM card will be sent to your home address through the post within 15 days. Now you will see here that your sbi account has been opened. Here your account number, IFSCnumber, branch code along other details will appear. Make a note of it somewhere or take a screenshot of it.

13. Activate internet banking

This account has to be activated in order to use online banking in your account. To activate, click on the official website of SBI www.onlinesbi.com link. To activate your ID, you have to click on the login option in the Personal Banking Key section. Now after clicking on the login key option, the login page will be displayed in front of you. Now you have to select Activation of Username. You have to click on the net option, after that, you will get the option to fill the temporary username here. Now type any username here. 14. How To Use Internet Banking
